The Magnet Shield is designed to trap the powerful magnetic field of the Feel Flux neodymium magnet inside the case with minimal leakage. The shells are made of cast iron that conducts the magnetostatic filed roughly 5000 times better than air. As a result, the magnetic force lines are not spread through the air as they normally would but they are guided neatly inside the metal shells.
The magnet ball is also enclosed in an inner wooden shell that keeps the ball from sticking to the iron directly. The result is a safe product that is easy to handle and opens and closes with a satisfying magnetic click.
How to use
Enclose the Feel Flux magnet ball between the two wooden inner shells and make sure that the flat surfaces on the bottom side of the inserts align.
Hold together the ball-shaped wooden inserts by the rounded recesses on the sides and put the inserts into the bottom iron shell (with the flattened base) in a way that the flat surfaces of the wooden insert and the iron shell contact.
Close the Magnet Shield by covering it with the top iron shell. How will it stay closed? The force of the magnet will keep the two halves together.
Make sure that the magnet ball never sticks to the iron shells directly.
The force that attracts the magnet and the shells together is really strong so not only is it very hard to separate the parts stuck together but the rough surface of the cast-iron shell may scratch or damage the coating of the magnet.
